TETE ALEJANDRE
Tete Alejandre is a visual artist and sociologist who, from the beginning of his journey in the art scene, has been interested in the exploration of sociology through art. He studied this subject through street Photography and the revision of classical photography guided by the need to look beyond “the everyday”. From these initial approaches he has evolved towards color and creation in a path of reinterpretation of the image through digital processes. In his works he combines the strength and the message of photography with the plastic power that the photographed manifests in geometry and color. He focuses his interest and work where the geographical limits of the image end, reconceptualising the scene from its own photographic essence.
He explores a wide range of subjects such as landscapes, cities, urbanism, consumer society, sustainability and everyday life, transferring them to visual images; with a photographic base and identity. His images then acquire a language of their own by extending their limits and spatial boundaries, in a process of decontextualisation that seeks to play with the visual perception of the observer.
In his professional career, he has held numerous solo and group exhibitions at national and international levels and his work can be found in private and public collections such as the “Banco de Sabadell” Collection, ENAIRE Foundation, the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Spanish Railways Foundation/ADIF, the “Iberdrola” Collection, “El Brocense” Art Gallery, the “Hispanoamerican” Cultural Center of Havana, “Caja Extremadura” Bank Foundation or the Assembly of Extremadura, among others.
