SHUT UP (2010)
To initiate the development of the artistic process, he frequently go to novels, philosophical essays or even press articles to activate analogies or materialize ideas. The influence is notable as many of the topics he deals with come directly from these sources. Lately he´s taking up readings by J. Baudrillard about “the real” and “the imaginary”, or the simulation scenarios that new technologies pose in our reality. All this helps him to ask himself questions and develop approaches in which the representation does not have to give an answer, in fact what he find very often are more questions about it. He thinks it is essential to delve into theoretical readings, break down the information in order to promote new artistic strategies. For him, the influence of all this is basic, since by acquiring all that knowledge, I also filter it through my own imagination, creating new points of view or analogies.
At the beginning of 2010 he started working with the Google search engine. His goal was to use it as a working methodology. The idea of this process was based on introducing a concept, word or phrase in Google. From the results of images offered by the search engine, I created the pictorial composition of the painting. The objective of this work was based on investigating the relationship between meaning and signifiers, giving rise to a wide variety of image results. In this kind of game of contradictions and similarities arises the basis of my imagery or pictorial universe.
